This vacancy at The Raise Academy is a fantastic opportunity at our brand new SEMH school in Widnes opening in September 2024, to shape the school and transform the lives of children and those who look after them. If successful you will play a key role in setting up a brand new free school to provide successful education to students who need it most.
We want to build on our reputation of being extremely versatile, developing personalised programmes of study so all achieve. As a free school there is a rare opportunity that will give you the chance to help develop an education system that truly focuses on the individual.
The Raise Academy will become a beacon of outstanding practice in SEN delivery specifically focused around supporting students with Social and Emotional difficulties and this role will provide an exceptional prospect to help craft the foundations of successful lifelong education.
The school will begin with a cohort of 35 expanding to 50 in year 2 with potential further expansion to 64. We are looking for someone who will enjoy the challenge of setting up a school, along with the tremendous opportunity to work with an incredibly supportive central team and trust board.
As the newly appointed Deputy Headteacher your key priorities will be:
• Support the strategic vision and direction of the Academy.
• Provide strategic leadership and management to staff within the Academy.
• Secure and sustain effective teaching and learning throughout the school.
• Undertake performance management & line management responsibilities for a group of teachers and other staff in the school.
• Deploy staff and resources efficiently and effectively to meet specific objectives in line with school’s strategic plans.
• Ensure effective pastoral care and behaviour support throughout the school.
• To be responsible for the day to day leadership and management when the Headteacher is not in the Academy.
