We are delighted to offer an exceptional career progression opportunity at Whitby School. We are seeking an inspirational Deputy Headteacher to work with our senior leadership team to lead our school into its next exciting chapter.

This is a pivotal role at a formative moment. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders, you will provide clear, strategic leadership, helping to translate ambition into sustained improvement. You will play a central role in shaping the quality of teaching and learning, strengthening inclusion and ensuring that all pupils achieve and flourish.

You’ll bring proven experience of:

  • Leading school improvement, inclusion and high‑quality provision for all learners
  • Securing consistency in teaching and learning and raising expectations across a school
  • Using data and evidence intelligently to drive ambitious outcomes
  • Developing, motivating and supporting staff, with a strong focus on wellbeing
  • Navigating safeguarding, SEND and statutory responsibilities with confidence
  • Working effectively with governors, partners and the wider community
  • Leading at senior level within inspection and accountability frameworks
