What skills and experience we're looking for

Successful leadership and management experience in a school.

Successful leadership of a curriculum area.

Teaching experience in Key Stage 2

Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning

Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staff development

Experience of working with children with SEND

Experience of managing behaviour through a relational approach.

Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to set targets and identify weaknesses

Ability to communicate with a range of audiences- perspective parents, parents, staff….and children

Understanding of high-quality teaching, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve

Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others

Ability to build effective working relationships

About Oak Grange

Oak Grange Nursery and Primary School is a brand-new school in the Boulton Moor/Chellaston area of Derby City, situated between Field Lane and Snelsmoor Lane. The school serves the existing Fellowlands estate in Chellaston and the new Snelsmoor Lane development.

We opened in September 2023with Nursery and Reception classes. From September 2025, we will have classes in:

  • Year 2
  • Year 1
  • Reception
  • Nursery
  • The Role: Deputy Headteacher

We are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher with extensive Key Stage 2 teaching experience.

  • In the first year (2025-2026), you will teach our small Year 2 class.• In September 2026, you will move with this cohort into Year 3.Who We Are Looking For
