Chulmleigh College is a fully comprehensive secondary school serving pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. We have a clear aim: to give every pupil an excellent education. The college has enjoyed some of the best results in the region over the last 10 years and is heavily oversubscribed, In the 2025 examinations pupils achieving 4+ in Basics was 82%. Our A8 score was 54.09

We are seeking to appoint a well organised and self-motivated person to join our friendly SEND team. The successful candidate will assist the SENDCo in developing provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This is a key role and will include supporting the SENDCo in the implementation and updating of the Learning Support Improvement Plan as part of the School Improvement plan.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person, preferably with experience in a school environment. You will work alongside a dynamic and strong team of people committed to the progress and outcomes of children with special needs. We are keen to appoint the very best candidate to promote our ambition to offer the best provision to all our pupils.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Managing resources for Special Needs and Literacy/Numeracy Support
  • Developing curriculum resources to ensure pupils identified with SEND have the required level of support
  • Supporting the SENDCo in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum including access to additional or alternative provision
  • Liaising with outside agencies to ensure individual pupil special educational needs are met fully

We are looking for someone who is an excellent administrator:

  • With high expectations and a strong commitment to school improvement
  • Who has the ability and capacity to work under pressure
  • Will support and promote the inclusive ethos of our school
  • Is able to maintain confidentiality as appropriate and restrict information sharing in a professional manner.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills

We are pleased to offer this permanent post for 37 hours per week x 39 weeks per annum. The role is available from September 2026.
