Deputy Subject Leader of Maths

Salary Grade: UKAT Teachers + TRP 2d

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Location: Chatham Grammar

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Deputy Subject Leader of Maths to support departmental leadership. The role involves driving high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment; developing engaging, independent learning opportunities; and ensuring curriculum and examination compliance. You will support staff development, monitor student progress, and work with our university sponsor and partners to enhance learning programmes and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Subject Leader in the leadership and day-to-day management of the Maths department.

Drive high standards in teaching, learning, assessment, and student outcomes.

Develop and deliver innovative, engaging pedagogy that promotes independent learning.

Ensure curriculum delivery meets examination and statutory requirements.

Work with the University sponsor and external partners to enhance learning opportunities.

Contribute to whole-academy improvement and professional development.

Person Specification

Strong leadership skills with experience in curriculum and staff development.

Proven ability to raise student attainment and achievement.

Knowledge of effective pedagogy, assessment, and current educational practice.

Innovative, collaborative, and an excellent communicator.
