Design and Technology Food Technician job summary

We are looking for someone who understands the fundamental importance of food and nutrition as the basis of a healthy life, and who is keen to help pass this knowledge on to young people. The role sits within the Design and Technology faculty, and is suitable for someone who is able to implement appropriate health, hygiene and safety requirements, provide guidance on technical matters, deal with practical challenges, and carry out accurate data entry and administration. This job supports the work of the Food teachers, especially in preparing ingredients and organising other practical requirements. This job role is based on 2 days a week, term time only.

You need to have good subject knowledge, like children and want to work in a genuinely diverse community. This requires enthusiasm, compassion and patience; a true comprehensive school is the most rewarding place to work, but can also be a challenge.
