Working pattern
- Full time, part time: The role is for a minimum of 32 hours per week, with some flexibility around the working pattern. The ideal start time would be between 7.45am and 8.00am. There is the option to work the hours across four days. Some flexibility outside of normal school hours will also be required to allow for lesson preparation and the setting up and tidying away of resources at the beginning and end of the school day.

What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design & Technology Technician to join our existing team of two technicians. The successful candidate will provide practical and technical support specifically within our 3D Design workshop. This role is due to commence in November 2026.
As a Technology Technician you will be required to support departmental colleagues by ordering and preparing resources and equipment and providing support in and out of class. This will include helping to set up resources for each lesson, assisting in the lesson itself – managing resources and equipment or helping smaller groups with key activities - and packing away and tidying up at the end of the lesson.
Design & Technology is a thriving department where students are encouraged to be independent problem solvers and creative thinkers. The curriculum is planned and delivered in a way to foster this as the projects equip the students with a variety of skills to help them become expert designers and makers. All of this culminates in the positive exam results the students regularly achieve.
The Design & Technology Department has five purpose-built rooms, five teaching staff and three technicians. The dedicated staff all work together as a team and support each other through the sharing of good practice. The teaching team are qualified specialists in their field and teach across all the key stages.
