What skills and experience we're looking for
Applications are welcome from UQTs, NQTs and experienced teachers who have the ability to think creatively and are resilient and motivated by challenges.
Experience of working within a SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-driven, flexible and talented Teacher of Design & Technology to work with the pupils and students throughout the school across Key Stages2 to 5. Candidates must be able to independently plan, prepare and deliver ongoing and informative lessons that progress the pupils and students towards the achievement of GCSE Design & Technology (Resistant Materials) and BTEC Construction from Entry Level to Level 2.
BTEC Construction contains many different practical units so experience in basic plumbing, painting and decorating, bricklaying, carpentry and plastering and experience of delivering BTEC qualifications previously would be desirable but not essential.
Candidates must be able to convey the subject to pupils and students who have a range of abilities and be able to monitor and assess to ensure the best possible progress. The successful candidate will have a commitment to developing outstanding practice and the desire and drive to improve educational outcomes and life chances for our very special pupils and students.
Your application form will be scored according to each of the requirements laid out in the person specification for this role. Please demonstrate in your statement how your experience, skills and knowledge match the criteria that are required for the role. Failure to show evidence will result in your application not being shortlisted for interview.
Please note that CV applications will not be considered.
Closing Date:31st January 2023 at 11:59pm
Please note that we may close this advert and interview before the closing date if we receive applications from exceptional candidates.
