What skills and experience we're looking for
Yeovil has a long and proud history in the Engineering and Manufacturing sectors. Our aim is to provide a solid grounding in the knowledge, understanding and skills required to enable our students to progress and be successful in these fields. Design & Technology is an important and integral element of our curriculum and we are actively seeking to grow and strengthen moving forwards. This will include increased links with local colleges and training providers, opportunities for CPD and collaboration with departments within the Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership Trust.
The successful candidate should be:
- Hard working and fully committed to the ethos of the academy
- Enthusiastic and willing to try new ideas and take responsibility for new initiatives
- Keen to support the teaching of excellence by improving student outcomes
- Someone with sky high expectations of students, whilst fully appreciating the need to provide encouragement and support to students of all abilities
- Capable of working with staff from all areas of the academy, external agencies and partner schools
- Interested in continuous professional development

Originally established as Buckler's Mead School in 1957, Buckler’s Mead Academy is now a successful 11- 16 academy where we pride ourselves on providing an inspiring education for all. This is achieved through a strong sense of community, providing a wide range of opportunities, ensuring students enjoy school and are ultimately successful in their chosen field.
