Designated Safeguarding Lead (non-teaching) job summary
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? Graham School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our dynamic Child Protection Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help create a strong culture of safeguarding within the school and work directly with students who are subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, Early Help Plans, or those who are care-experienced/looked after. You’ll play a key role in helping students to feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
In this important school leadership role, you will work in partnership with a range of external agencies, including Social Workers, the Police, Youth Offending Services, and community organisations. You will work with senior leaders and staff to ensure our Trust Safeguarding Practice Model, "Think Family - Think Community," is implemented effectively within the school. There will be a need for flexibility with post holders working on a number of cases and projects at any one time. There is potential that the post holder will need to attend meetings outside of the school day.

Scarborough is easily accessible and whilst many of our current staff are local, many also travel from York, Hull, Driffield and the surrounding areas. Our staff are our greatest resource and we are proud to be a host school to Teach First and NPQ providers.
