Your Mission
As the Devon Premises Manager, you will lead our Devon based premises teams to ensure that our Devon schools are maintained to the highest standard, remain fully compliant, and are safe, inspiring spaces for learning. In partnership with Trust’s Estates Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our Devon estates’ maintenance and security, leading your team to deliver excellence every day.
This is a varied and hands-on role requiring practical skills, attention to detail, and strong leadership. From organising planned and reactive maintenance to ensuring health and safety compliance, you’ll be at the heart of building an environment where children and staff can thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing
Premises and Facilities Management
- Overseeing maintenance, repairs, and improvements across the Devon schools, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Leading and supporting the premises teams using the ‘Every’ System for estates-related compliance.
- Managing building security through routine and non-routine inspections and patrols.
Health and Safety Leadership
- Driving a strong health and safety culture, conducting regular spot checks, and ensuring safe working practices.
- Keeping COSHH files compliant and up to date and ensuring protective equipment is used as needed.
- Attending relevant training and promoting health and safety standards across all sites.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Leading and directing the premises staff across Devon to deliver high-quality facilities management.
- Liaising with contractors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Championing ACE’s values and fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
