Director of Estates job summary

A warm welcome

Thank you for your interest in joining Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Trust as our first Director of Estates. This is a genuinely exciting time to join us.

We currently serve seven schools across Doncaster: two secondaries and five primaries. Over the next three years we are growing, with schools joining us in Nottingham and a further University Technical College (UTC) coming into the Trust in 2029. To support that growth we are moving to a hub model, built around Doncaster and Nottingham, so that every school gets responsive, expert support close to home while benefiting from the strength of a larger trust.

Our estate is central to that ambition. Children learn best in buildings that are safe, well maintained and designed around how they are taught. We want someone who sees the estate as a strategic asset, not just a list of jobs to fix, and who will help us plan, invest and build for the next decade. You do not need a background in education. Experience in construction, quantity surveying, facilities management or property could be exactly what we are looking for.

This role sits in the Central Team and reports directly to our Chief Operating Officer. You will be at the forefront of shaping the new estates function, building the team, setting the standards and leading the capital programme that will carry us through this next stage. If you want to leave a lasting mark on the places where children learn, we would love to hear from you.

About the Trust and the opportunity

Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Trust (BFLPT) is a multi academy trust of seven schools based in Doncaster. We believe every child deserves a brighter future, and we work together as one partnership to make that happen.

Our growth plan will see the Trust develop two regional hubs:

Doncaster hub: our existing seven schools and Central Team

Nottingham hub: primary schools joining the Trust, with further growth planned in the area

UTC: a University Technical College joining in 2029, bringing specialist technical and industry facilities into the estate

Until now, estates has been led operationally. As the Trust grows, we need strategic leadership that can look across every site, plan investment years ahead and make sure each hub has the right people, contracts and systems in place. The Director of Estates will build that function from the ground up, working alongside the CEO, COO, the CFO and our headteachers.

For an informal, confidential discussion about this role, please contact Tarina Chow on 01302 885811.

The closing date for applications is 9am on 9 November 2026.

The interviews will be held on 13 November 2026.

If you have not heard anything by the 10 November 2026 please assume you have been unsuccessful in this instance
