Abbey Multi Academy Trust is a family of eight academies within the Anglican Diocese of Leeds, serving communities across Leeds and Calderdale. We share a commitment to ensuring every child and young person is known, valued and supported to succeed.
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Inclusion to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of inclusion across the Trust. This is a key senior leadership role, working closely with the CEO, Executive Team, Trustees and Headteachers to ensure inclusive practice is embedded consistently and effectively across all schools.
The Director of Inclusion will champion equity, diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all pupils - particularly those with SEND, vulnerabilities or additional needs - thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The post holder will balance support and challenge, driving high expectations, statutory compliance and strong outcomes for all learners.
We are looking for a dedicated individual who can:
- Develop and deliver a Trust-wide inclusion strategy aligned to the Trust’s vision and values
- Provide expert advice and challenge to senior leaders, the executive team and trustees on inclusion and SEND
- Have strategic oversight of SEND provision across the Trust, ensuring compliance
- Lead Trust-wide inclusive practice, behaviour strategy and positive behaviour culture
- Quality assurance inclusion practice using data, reviews and evaluation to secure continuous improvement
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities, external agencies and wider system partners
You will be:
- A committed and credible senior leader with a strong moral purpose and passion for inclusion
- An experienced practitioner with substantial leadership experience in SEND and/or inclusion
- A strategic thinker who can translate vision into impactful practice
- Collaborative, resilient and solution-focused, with the ability to influence and challenge effectively
- An excellent communicator, able to build trusting relationships across schools and with external partners
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Supportive of the Christian ethos, mission and values of Abbey Multi Academy Trust
