Director of Inclusion & SENDco job summary
As our Director of Inclusion & SENDco, you will provide strategic leadership across the academy, ensuring that every child, regardless of need, background, or starting point, is able to thrive and achieve their full potential. You will lead the development of an inclusive culture where high expectations, ambition, and exceptional support enable vulnerable learners and those with SEND to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will drive whole-school improvement in inclusive practice, oversee statutory SEND processes, and ensure the highest standards of provision. You will collaborate with staff, families, external agencies, and the Trust to remove barriers to learning, improve outcomes, and champion the needs of all learners. Through coaching, quality assurance, and professional development, you will empower staff to deliver outstanding inclusive teaching and support across the academy.
Who We’re Looking ForWe are seeking an inspirational and strategic leader who is passionate about inclusion and dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You will have a strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practice, alongside a proven ability to lead improvement, influence others, and drive high standards across a school.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to work effectively with staff, families, governors, external agencies, and Trust colleagues. You will be highly organised, analytical, and solution-focused, with the ability to use data and evidence to identify priorities and secure meaningful impact. Most importantly, you will share our belief that every young person deserves an ambitious, inclusive education that enables them to flourish and succeed
