Director Of Learning and Standards - Geography (Head of Department) job summary
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Geography to lead our committed and enthusiastic Geography team as Director of Learning and Standards. We welcome applications from current subject leaders as well as aspiring middle leaders with at least two to three years of highly successful teaching experience.
As part of the Central Region Schools Trust, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues across a group of local schools, supporting the development of cohesive and high-quality Geography provision for students aged 3-19. You will play a significant role in shaping the direction of the subject both within Arrow Vale and across the wider Trust.
This is an excellent time to join a highly motivated and successful team. The school achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all categories in 2014 and 2018 and has maintained this standard in our most recent inspection in 2024.
The successful candidate will share the ethos and values of Arrow Vale and demonstrate the commitment, professionalism and drive required to support our continued improvement. As a previously designated National Teaching School, with a strong track record in staff development and initial teacher training, we offer clear and meaningful opportunities for both personal and professional growth.
Interested candidates who wish to have an informal conversation about this role are welcome to contact Michaela Yeomans, Assistant Principal.
