  • We are currently seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and motivational leader in Science to continue to drive forward teaching and learning in this key area. Ormiston Maritime Academy was graded ‘good’ in all areas in July 2022, and Science was identified as a curriculum area of strength.

What skills and experience we're looking for

As a skilled teacher yourself, you will lead by example and have the ability to inspire students and colleagues to achieve their potential. As Director of Learning (Science) you will make a significant contribution to ensuring we achieve our commitment to our students and their families.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about their subject bringing energy and enthusiasm to the students they teach.
  • Be able to teach across the age and ability range, demonstrating excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate students to enable them to achieve their full potential.
  • Have a strong understanding of the Science curriculum at KS3 & KS4 (Combined Science and Triple Science) and contribute to our extra-curricular programme.
