What skills and experience we're looking for
- Take the strategic lead for SEND policy development and ensure processes and practices are in place to deliver it
- Be responsible for the implementation of EHCPs, Individual Provision Maps and the outcomes of annual reviews, target setting, monitoring, assessment and diagnostic testing etc
- Lead the team to effectively support the needs of individual and groups of students
- Develop and implement a Departmental Improvement Plan reflecting the School Development Plan targets
- Manage the delivery of high-quality interventions
- Manage and monitor the education of students with SEND engaged in alternative provision including quality assurance and visits to placements
Manage the Access Arrangements process to ensure all students are appropriately supported in examinations
What the school offers its staff
We currently have 1193 students on roll in Years 7-13 of which 189 are on the SEND Register, 37 of whom have EHCPs. This includes 15 students who are part of our Mainstream Autism Base (MAB). In addition, 18% of students are in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant. The Inclusion Department is housed at the heart of the school within purpose-built accommodation which includes an office, a classroom and 4 break out/intervention rooms together with an accessible bathroom facility and physio area. The Autism Base, in addition, houses a classroom, two breakout areas and a kitchen/dining area.
