DIRECTOR OF MATHS - DELTA ACADEMIES TRUST

Do you want to work in a forward-thinking and aspirational academy group that places learning at the heart of everything it does?

Delta Academies Trust are looking to appoint a Director of Maths to join us in January 2022 or sooner if possible. Working alongside our team of experienced Trust Subject Directors, you will be deployed in 2 or 3 of our academies during the academic year. We are passionate about our specialism and want all our pupils to develop a love of Maths and be taught by the very best in our profession, giving them every opportunity to excel.

Salary: Leadership scale L13 – 17 (£56,721 - £62,570).

Delta Academies Trust are looking to build an elite team of exceptional leaders, teachers, and support staff to transform education in the North of England, in line with our vision of ‘Changing Lives’. Our vision is to transform education across the North of England and level up the playing field for those children who live in disadvantaged circumstances. Through strong and purposeful leadership and high quality teaching and learning, we are confident that we can have a positive impact upon the lives of young people, ensuring that all students achieve their potential, realise their aspirations; and are well prepared for the next stage of their lives.

The Director of Maths is part of a team of lead professionals that take responsibility for the quality of individual subject provision, curriculum teaching and assessment. Directors of Maths are jointly accountable for subject performance improvement, attainment and progress in their discreet subject areas. The Director of Maths will work across the Trust Academies, and have a target group of assigned Academies in a geographical area where they work closely with the Senior Leadership and Subject Leadership Teams to accelerate improvement and raise standards. Directors of Maths plan and teach high quality lessons, deliver intervention programmes and challenge and support subject teams to achieve stretching targets for outcomes. Directors of Maths analyse performance data to ensure that students are appropriately targeted for support and work across the Trust to ensure consistency of subject quality and delivery throughout the network of Academies.

We are committed to investing in staff of all levels and we will ensure you have access to high quality professional development through a formal CPD programme. As part of your career development, we will give you the opportunity to work with a wide range of senior leaders, as well as to undertake formal National Professional Qualifications. We also have an employee benefits scheme.

If you share our vision, are passionate about raising educational attainment and standards and helping young people reach their full potential, you can make a difference with Delta Academies Trust.

About Delta Academies Trust

Delta Academies Trust is an exempt charity with its values drawn from the public sector and Directors appointed on a voluntary basis. We are one of the largest multi academy trusts in the North of England with a passion and drive to improve the education experience for all pupils and students regardless of where they live.

Delta operates as a single multi-academy sponsor and in that capacity is one employer across all the Academies which it sponsors.

Delta has a proven track record, as well as the educational expertise, capacity and experience to secure transformational change and sustainable academy improvement in the schools which it supports through sponsorship. It is currently responsible for the leadership and governance of a number of academies including infant, primary, secondary and free schools.

With a predecessor educational trust history going back to 2004, Delta, has an impressive record in school improvement and has established an organisation which provides a 21st Century model for collaboration within the public sector and is a ‘not for profit’ organisation with public accountability.

Due to the size of the Trust and the locations of our academies/schools, we're really well placed to offer all kinds of varied career paths. So, whether you're looking for the challenge of a new role, want to learn new skills, try a new location, or progress to bigger opportunities, we'd love to talk to you.

We provide the support and opportunities you may need to develop and its up to you to make the most of these, but we’ll help you with lots of learning opportunities, both informal and formal, designed to help you develop inside of work – and outside too.

Working for us is all about passion, and we have lots of people who are really passionate about what they do – teaching assistants, IT technicians, teachers, caterers, leaders and curriculum experts. We love it when our people get creative, muck in and have fun. Of course, we look for people who love learning, helping others to grow and care about the students and communities we serve.

We encourage all of the people who work for us to take ownership and do everything necessary to create a standout experience for our students.

Ask our people what they get up to day to day and they’ll all tell you how much they enjoy the variety, pace, and challenge of working in one of our academies, schools or Head Office. This flexibility isn’t just part of our working day – we understand that our people have lives, and want them to also enjoy their friends, family, hobbies and commitments outside of work.

Our academies offer safe and secure surroundings and the pleasure of working with great people. Working with our students and communities is pretty interesting too and you’ll play an essential role adding to their experience of education and also of Delta Academies Trust.

We are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer. We make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the Trust by being a member of the Disability Confident scheme. This helps us to recruit and retain high quality, skills and hard working people from a wider talent pool.
