What skills and experience we're looking for

Truro and Penwith Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Director of Curriculum to lead Mathematics education across our Secondary Academies. TPAT is an inclusive, thriving Trust of secondary and primary academies, located across mid and west Cornwall. Our Trust mission is to improve life chances for all our pupils. We are proud to be a growing Trust, and from 1st February our family of 5 secondary schools (Cape Cornwall School, Hayle Academy, St Ives School, Helston College and Mullion School) with be joined by Mounts Bay Academy, Fowey River Academy, and 5 Islands Academy (an all-through school). This growth brings an exciting opportunity to appoint a Director of Curriculum for Mathematics with responsibility for developing our maths curriculum and pedagogy and for raising standards and outcomes across our secondary phase provision.

The successful applicant will work as a key member of our school improvement team, ensuring that all our pupils receive a high quality education in maths and become confident, enthusiastic and successful mathematicians.

About You:

You will have a child-centered approach to decision making, and will have the expertise to be able to design and implement a creative, inclusive and challenging curriculum which inspires and motivates pupils and supports high quality teaching and learning. You will have a track record of leading impactful school improvement. You will also be an excellent communicator, mentor, coach and trainer with the expertise and skills to build a high performing team of mathematics teachers across our Academies. Importantly, you will share our vision and values and will be committed to ensuring that every child succeeds and achieves their full potential.
