JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: Director of Pupil Entitlement

Reports to: CEO or other member of central executive team, eg Chief Education Officer

Salary: AS Leadership 24-28 £92,012-£101,483

Location: Trust-wide position, with regular work in all Advantage Schools

Purpose of the role

The Director of Pupil Entitlement will be one of the Trust’s most senior educational leaders and is focused on entitlement and inclusion. The postholder will have trust-wide responsibility for ensuring that every pupil receives an ambitious, high-quality education and can participate fully in school life. Particular attention will be given to pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and pupils who are vulnerable to poor attendance, exclusion, restricted curriculum access or poor destinations.

The Director will develop and deliver the Trust’s strategy in these areas, establish clear expectations for every school and ensure that agreed approaches are implemented consistently. They will provide authoritative advice and challenge to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Education Officer, Executive Principals/Directors of Education, Principals and trustees.

The Trust’s approach to pupil entitlement must be integral to curriculum, teaching, behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, staffing, resource allocation and school improvement. The Director will ensure that pupils receive appropriate provision and support while continuing to experience the Trust’s high expectations of behaviour, learning, participation, and outcomes.

Principals and school SENDCos will retain responsibility for the day-to-day operation of provision within their schools. The Director will lead the trust-wide strategy, quality assurance, leadership development, allocation of resources and response to significant or systemic weaknesses.
