Director of Technology job summary
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 1c (£9,661 – pay award pending)
Our Design & Technology Department is based in a suite of well-resourced specialist teaching rooms which include 3 modern Food Technology rooms, an Engineering Room, 4 workshops and 2 Textiles rooms.
KS3 students currently study Resistant Materials, Textiles Technology and Food Technology on a rotation. Each of these subjects is optional at KS4 as a GCSE course. Design and Technology with a specialist route in different materials will be offered instead of Resistant Materials in September 2020.
Each subject area is led by a TLR 2 Lead Teacher who reports to the Director of Technology. There are two DT technicians, one working in Food and Textiles, the other in RM.
You will manage the day to day smooth running of the department, ensure appropriate schemes of work are in place which meet the needs of our pupils, that data is analysed and used to drive prompt and effective intervention where necessary, and that the team is clearly directed, supported and developed. You will draw all aspects of Design and Technology together to forge a strong team which consistently delivers lessons our children enjoy and look forward to.
