DT Food & Textiles Technician
Salary Grade C - £ 26,824 (FTE)
16 hours per week
Term Time Only including INSET days
Reporting to : Head of Design & Technology
Purpose of post : Supporting teaching staff in the Design & Technology classrooms, providing admin support and preparing materials and equipment to support teaching and learning.
As a Technician within the Food and Textiles Department you will:
- Have a strong awareness of the Health & Safety issues in the Food & Technology areas.
Support teaching staff in the classrooms.
Prepare material and equipment for both food and textiles lessons.
Order materials and ingredients required for lessons.
Maintain cleanliness within the classroom at all times.
Prepare resources and materials for display.
Maintain resources, display and equipment.
Undertake administrative duties within the department including the use of ICT.
Contribute to the smooth running of the department.
Have practical skills to support work within the food and textiles department.
Be able to join the team with students on educational visits.
We are looking for a candidate who:
Possesses the relevant experience/skills/experience needed
Desirable if you have a catering or food science background
Is self-motivated and has ability to work independently
Enjoys working with 11-18 year old students
Is a good team player
Is willing to learn
Has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Can use ICT and support others with their skills.
