What skills and experience we're looking for
Our school curriculum intent celebrates academic excellence, diversity and taking-action! We are an international school and have high aspirations for all our pupils and are looking for an experienced individual who can support individuals/groups of pupils with English as their second language. Some children may be new to the country, whilst others may need school support to build up their vocabulary and skills in reading and writing – ensuring access to our exciting broad and balanced curriculum.
We are looking for someone who holds a qualification in EAL/TESOL/TEFL to join our team, someone with a genuine belief in the achievement of all pupils. This belief in inclusive education is central to our Catholic ethos, where every child is celebrated, protected and loved. Candidates must be able to build a good relationship with children and have the ability to work flexibly and effectively as part of our welcoming staff.
What the school offers its staff
We have a diverse, professional teaching and support team who think outside of the box to engage and support pupils to ensure academic excellence. We have a responsive professional development programme to hone our practice and ensure that adaptations are based on evidence-based research. This is an exciting opportunity to join us and the successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the school.
The best way to understand our ethos is to come and visit us. We are a two-form entry city school with a dedicated and professional staff, a beautiful, green setting with lots of space (including a forest school). We are proud of our creative and balanced curriculum. Our website is in the process of being upgraded and gives a flavour of what we offer.
