EAL TEACHER AND COORDINATOR job summary

EAL TEACHER AND COORDINATOR | PART-TIME

Following a successful Ofsted inspection, and an expansion in student numbers in the sixth form, we are looking for an exceptional individual to join our school as an EAL Teacher and Coordinator.

This is a new role to the school reflecting the strong positive growth in student numbers and the diverse teaching and learning needs of our student cohort. We require an EAL teacher who has the knowledge and skills to support individuals and small groups of pupils and students to fulfil their academic potential, whilst also developing and supporting effective practice across the school, enabling a strategic approach to EAL student achievement.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic teacher, with a commitment to inclusive education, to work in a supportive environment that sets high expectations enabling pupils and students to achieve their goal of progressing to university or an apprenticeship.

The school is an excellent provision with a stable staff of subject specialists. Pupils and students study predominantly STEM subjects, (science, computer science, maths, engineering) as well as English and Media. The school has excellent levels of attendance, with a focused and aspirational student body.

“Pupils demonstrate exceptionally positive attitudes to learning. They work hard and are keen to succeed. They make a positive contribution to the school community” Ofsted, January 2025

“The school is a calm and purposeful environment where all pupils feel safe. They use study spaces effectively to consolidate their learning.” Ofsted, January 2025 Brook 6th Form & Academy is well resourced with world class facilities that enable staff to deliver Quality First teaching to our pupils and students through practical activities, as well as traditional classroom-based pedagogy. The school has excellent transport links, with Dagenham East tube station (District Line) a short walk away. This is an exciting time to be joining the school as it looks to expand its staffing in response to its continued success.

  • Disseminating information to teaching staff to ensure that EAL pupils and students are fully supported in their subject lessons
