Are you passionate about teaching and learning? Do you want to inspire independent, happy learners in a supportive, values-driven environment? Wenlock CofE Academy is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Class Teacher (ECT) to join our committed team. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, we would love to hear from you.

We are proud of our Christian ethos and our strong association with the Diocese of St Albans Multi-Academy Trust. Our school is dedicated to helping children achieve and flourish, providing a values-based education where every child is valued and supported.

During our recent Ofsted inspection in February 2026, our school was recognised as a strong standard in Inclusion and Personal Development & Well Being. Inspectors also highlighted key strengths seen in the expected standard across Leadership & Governance, Teaching & Learning, and Attendance & Behaviour. The report reflects the values that underpin our school community. As noted by inspectors, “Pupils love coming to this caring school,” and “Staff respond to pupils’ needs with great care and accuracy.” In addition, “Leaders have developed ways to ensure pupils experience a deep sense of belonging,” reinforcing our commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive. We believe these outcomes demonstrate not only the high expectations we hold for our pupils, but also the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of our staff team.

What We Offer:

  • Excellent professional development opportunities tailored to your needs
  • Comprehensive ECT support package, including mentoring and guidance
  • Career progression and networking opportunities across the Trust
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment
  • Employee Assistance Programme for health and wellbeing

  • An inclusive and diverse workplace, where everyone’s contribution is valued

The Role:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, inspiring a love of learning in your pupils
  • Create a safe, welcoming and stimulating classroom environment
  • Work as part of a dedicated team, sharing the Christian vision and values of our school
