Main Pay Scale 1-2

2025 is an exciting year for Glenvale Primary School as we embark on a brand-new chapter - and you could be part of our success!

When you are embarking on your first steps into teaching, it is vital to find the best match and school environment for you. At The Glenvale CE Primary School, we believe we have a wonderful working environment to offer !

At Glenvale, we are proud to offer an environment that allows all staff to develop professionally and personally, throughout their careers. We pride ourselves on creating a school that is friendly, safe, and supportive, with good working conditions, wellbeing, and workload at the forefront of our minds in all decision making.

We work in conjunction with PDET, to offer a comprehensive ECT plan. What does this mean exactly?

  • Guaranteed ECT time,
  • High quality CPD,
  • Bespoke training at all levels,
  • Curriculum enrichment opportunities,
  • Networking with other ECTs across the Trust.
  • Direct mentorship with experienced colleagues and Headteacher,

…as a minimum, to help you flourish. Alongside 35 other primary schools across the Peterborough Diocese, we drive pupil and staff achievement; by encouraging one another and building each other up.

Whilst support is focused during the initial stages of your career, PDET recognise that continuous professional development is essential to maintain standards and achievements for our pupils and maintain confidence and challenge in our staff. Consequently, continual opportunities are sustained throughout your career with PDET, whereby access to leadership secondments, transfers and training can be provided, alongside the opportunity to work across more than one school, of which we have a great variety, ranging from small village schools to large urban schools.

We are excited to be recruiting for a Class teacher to join our community, to support, inspire and lead our brilliant children. The successful candidate will be motivated, with a drive to support our children’s personal and academic progression. We encourage each other to reach our full potential within a Christian atmosphere and therefore we seek to appoint a candidate who shares in our passion and values in enabling all of our children to flourish.

We have been proud to be part of the Wilby community for over 170 years, but in 2023 we secured the opportunity to move into a fantastic new purpose build school building, in the Glenvale Park development. We moved to this new space in September 2024 and so, there is now no better time to join our community as a Class Teacher.

This role will focus upon enhancing the outcomes in teaching and learning, working closely with colleagues and the SLT to support shared best practice, effective communication and contributing to a culture where pupils experience a positive and enriching school life. We would be proud to welcome a passionate, determined and knowledgeable teacher, as we strive to sustain high ‘Quality First Teaching and Learning.’

We are looking for someone who:

  • Someone who supports a Christian ethos and inclusive nature and who works to embed these values with children, staff, governors, parents and the wider community;
  • Someone who strives to improve outcomes for all children in their care and works closely with teams in school to provide information, support and interventions to ensure all children are successful;
  • A teacher who makes learning fun, engaging and memorable
  • Someone who is reflective and continually seeks to improve their practice;
  • A person who has excellent team skills who can inspire colleagues and children alike;
  • A teacher who understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive relationships with parents;
  • An energetic individual who smiles often, challenges positively and drives change for the benefit of all.

Please see the attached Job Description to review all details of this role.

We can offer you:

  • A working atmosphere that is very much like one big family, from the children to the parents, staff and Governors. Every child is known by their name by every member of staff.
  • A school with six key values embedded in our everyday school life – Compassion, Forgiveness, Friendship, Hope, Serving Others and Thankfulness.
  • An exciting opportunity to work within the wider aspirational SLT team that want to embrace your talents and skills.
  • Excellent CPD through being part of the Peterborough Diocesan Academy (PDET).
