Early Years Assistant Head Teacher job summary

We are looking for an inspiring, motivated and experienced Early Years Assistant Headteacher to join our leadership team and play a key role in shaping the educational experience and outcomes for our youngest pupils.

Working closely with the Primary Headteacher, you will contribute to the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school, helping to establish and maintain high expectations for teaching, learning, behaviour and pupil wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop key areas of school improvement, working collaboratively with staff to ensure that all children receive a high-quality, broad and engaging curriculum.

With a strong focus on Early Years practice, you will model high-quality teaching and support colleagues to develop their practice, pedagogy and classroom strategies. The role includes a significant teaching commitment of at least 0.8, providing an excellent opportunity to remain closely connected to classroom practice while developing your leadership experience.

As part of the senior leadership team, you will contribute to safeguarding, SEND, assessment, attendance, behaviour and pupil wellbeing, using evidence and data to identify priorities and drive meaningful improvement. You will also support the development of staff through coaching, professional development and effective line management, creating a culture where colleagues feel supported, challenged and empowered to achieve their best.
