Early Years Educator Apprentice Level 3 job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice to join our committed team. This is an opportunity to make a difference to children’s lives and their futures. It is a chance to join a supportive team committed to ensure all our children reach their potential.

What you will do in your working day

  • Our children thrive with adults who are friendly, firm and fair, and we are looking for a calm, flexible but consistent person to fill this role
  • The post will be to support children in our PreSchool, Puddleducks
  • As an Apprentice Early Years Educator, the role is incredibly varied meaning you could be providing general classroom support and at other times you could be working on a 1:1 basis with an individual child
  • Responsibilities include meeting the pupils’ emotional, social and physical needs and liaising with Teaching staff in the development and delivery of the curriculum
  • Applicants will need to be confident, resilient and have excellent communication skills
  • You will be joining a committed and enthusiastic team who enjoy the challenges and opportunities of working in a school environment

The training you will be getting

Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard:

Apprentices must successfully complete a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Please refer to the DfE list of approved EYE qualifications:

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirements are Entry Level 3, and the British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English qualifications for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.

Apprentices must successfully complete a paediatric first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework (Annex A): Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

You will be required to complete Functional Skills mathematics and English (where applicable), Employment Rights and Responsibilities and British Values.

Location: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College - Filton Campus.

Duration: 18-24 months.
