Brookfield Primary Academy is part of LEO Academy Trust  who are committed to developing a family of schools, where collaboration makes a real difference for our children, staff and families. We are seeking ambitious EYE apprentices to join our team in September 2025. We welcome applications from all members of the community, including those from protected characteristic groups.

Why an Apprenticeship?

There is lots of evidence showing the benefits of taking an apprenticeship. Enhanced career earnings, continued education and richer, more fulfilled working lives are just a few (Social Mobility Commission, 2020).

Why choose Brookfield Primary Academy?

With the exciting expansion of our Nursery provision at Brookfield, we are looking to appoint an Early Years apprentice to be involved in creating a fabulous, welcoming atmosphere where our children can thrive from a young age.

At LEO Academy Trust, we are committed to working with our wider community and to helping hard working, motivated individuals get into and get on at work. We have a proven track record of successful apprenticeship employment in various roles across our Trust and believe we are well positioned to support you in your first steps in your first, or new, career.

You will need to be at least 17 years old or over at the start of your apprenticeship with us.

You will:

  • Ideally have A*-C/levels 9-5 in GCSE (or equivalent) for English and Maths.
  • Enjoy working with babies and young children.
  • Be committed to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Have good ICT skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone.
  • Be accurate and pay attention to detail.
  • Be able to work constructively as part of a team.
  • Be able to be proactive, use initiative and take personal responsibility for all work.
  • Be able to take direction, and work towards and meet deadlines.
  • Be willing and able to complete all learning and assessment requirements of the relevant framework.

In your application you should detail how you meet the personal attributes listed in the job description and give examples of how you have demonstrated this in your previous work experience, education or voluntary roles.

Shortlisting will be undertaken as applications are received, with successful candidates contacted for the next stage in the selection process. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as the Trust reserves the right to remove the advert when a successful candidate is appointed.

Brookfield Primary Academy is one of family of schools that make up LEO Academy Trust.

Located in North Cheam, Brookfield is a two form primary with nursery offering 30 hours childcare. Brookfield was inspected by Ofsted in July 2019 and was found to be good in all categories. The inspectors found that "Leaders, governors and representatives of the trust have a very clear vision for what they want pupils to experience and achieve while at Brookfield. They have an accurate understanding of the school’s strengths and use this to plan effectively for improvement. There is a real focus on raising standards. Consequently, many outcomes are better than when the school first joined the trust."
