We are looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our team at North Elmham Primary School and Nursery. The position includes supporting the children attending the Nursery setting and working with the manager, deputy manager and room supervisor to deliver a suitable programme of activities, as well as caring for the children’s personal needs. The role will also include acting as a key worker for a small number of children and compiling a record of their development as well as involving parents/carers in their child’s progress. The successful candidate will enjoy working with children and be able to use their initiative to support the children’s needs and form positive and supportive relationships with them.

The Nursery setting will also provide before and after school care for the Nursery and school aged children, therefore the working hours will be from 8.00 am and 4.30 pm, Tuesday to Friday during school term time.

We would love to hear from you if:

  • You have a suitable early years or childcare qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
  • You have experience of working in an early years setting, either a Nursery or within an early years classroom
  • You have a love of the outdoors
  • You have an awareness of the Foundation Stage curriculum and experience of using the online journal, Tapestry
  • You are calm and flexible in your approach to children and able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
  • You are willing to undertake training as required for the role, attend meetings and contribute to the positive ethos of our school.

Working Hours

The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate at interview but will fall within our academy hours of Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30.
