Early Years Foundation Stage Lead (EYFS) job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious practitioner to shape the strategic direction of EYFS and ensure children make excellent progress in preparation for Key Stage 1 and beyond. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and will play a key role in driving high standards of teaching, learning and pupil outcomes.

The Role

As EYFS Lead, you will:

Lead and manage the EYFS curriculum, staff team and resources

Drive improvement in teaching and learning across EYFS

Monitor pupil progress and use assessment to inform strategic planning

Ensure high-quality provision that supports excellent outcomes for all pupils

Lead transition arrangements with local nurseries and pre-schools

Support and develop colleagues through coaching and collaboration

Promote strong partnerships with parents and the wider community

Lead early reading and phonics development (where appropriate)

The role will also include class teaching responsibilities within EYFS.

We are looking for someone who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has strong experience within the Early Years Foundation Stage

Has a deep understanding of early childhood development and the EYFS framework

Demonstrates strong leadership and organisational skills

Has high expectations for all pupils and a commitment to raising standards

Is reflective, motivated and committed to professional development

Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the wider school community
