Early Years Foundation Stage Learning Support Assistant job summary

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:

✅ Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities tailored to individual needs.
✅ Help children develop key skills in communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
✅ Provide one-to-one and small-group support, adapting activities to suit different learning styles and abilities. You will at times work with older primary aged pupils who need a EYFS approach.
✅ Assist with personal care needs, including feeding, toileting, and mobility, where required.
✅ Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
✅ Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to support each child's development..

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Experience working with young children in an early years setting, ideally with SEND.
✔ A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and how to adapt it for children with additional needs.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting children with diverse abilities.
✔ Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
✔ A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
