Early Years Foundation Stage Teaching Assistant job summary
At Lethbridge Primary School we recognise the value of effective teamwork, and our Teaching Assistants are very much part of both our class teams and the wider school community. We are seeking to employ a Teaching Assistant with EYFS experience, in either FS1 or FS2 settings. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate that they can engage with all our pupils and build positive relationships.
Duties include assisting the teacher to provide care and support for EYFS pupils, to support learning through planned and differentiated activities, preparation of an effective learning environment, and promoting and safeguarding the welfare of pupils. You will have a dynamic and creative approach to improving the teaching and learning in a way that benefits all our pupils.
Role Overview
The successful candidates will:
- Support children’s learning through play and planned activities
- Promote children’s wellbeing, independence, and development
- Work closely with class teachers and the wider Early Years team
- Support routines such as personal care, snack time, and outdoor learning
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young children (Early Years experience essential)
- Is patient, caring, and enthusiastic
- Works well as part of a team
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and child development
- Is willing to support children with additional needs where required in providing care and support for EYFS pupils, supporting learning through planned and differentiated activities, preparing resources in a classroom environment
