Hours: 30 hours per week, (27.5 hours Teaching Assistant + 2.5 hours Midday Supervision)

Furzefield Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated professional to join our dynamic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. This combined role as a Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor is key to ensuring the welfare, learning, and development of our pupils during the school day. We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a high level of Early Years experience who can deliver the highest standards of care and learning.

You will be joining a team committed to promoting excellence and independence, using an exciting play-based curriculum and continuous provision approach.

What you will bring to the role:

  • We are seeking a strong Teaching Assistant with proven experience in the primary sector and a preference for a high level of Early Years expertise.
  • A relevant Level 3 diploma or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning in school is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting children in the Foundation Stage.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and expertise in the Foundation Stage and supporting children in class.
  • Experience in the planning, preparation, and supervision of all class activities and delivery of the provision.
  • Ability to support the welfare of pupils, including assisting with dressing and toileting where necessary, and administering simple first aid.
  • The ability to effectively liaise and communicate effectively with children, parents, and a variety of adults.
  • A commitment to promote positive values, attitudes, and good pupil behaviour in line with school policy, and deal promptly with conflict.
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and the role of the Teaching Assistant within them.
