Vacancy: Early Years Playworker

Do you have a passion for the Early Years? Are you experienced in nurturing and caring for 2/3/4-year olds? Could you provide our children with high quality care? Do you love getting gooey, muddy, sticky and glittery? Can you pretend to be an explorer one day and The Gruffalo the next? If this sounds like you, then you could be the next member of our EYFS team.

Langdale’s Little Learners and Early Explorer’s is our 2, 3 and 4 -year-old provision. Due to its popularity, we are growing at an amazing rate and are looking for an additional member of staff to work alongside our dedicated, hardworking fabulous team.

Contracted hours: 35 hours a week, 8:30am-3:30pm

Contract type: Temporary, term time only

Pay grade: Grade 3

Annual Pay: £23,114 FTE

The duties for this role will include:

Support to Organisation

Safeguarding children is your priority.

Ensuring every individual child’s needs are met.

Creating strong relationships with parents and keeping them updated on their child’s day and development.

Take pride in the delivery of exciting and age appropriate activities.

Adhere to our policies.

Help create a setting that is clean and welcoming

Support to Pupils

Help plan a range of suitable activities for children aged 2 - 3 years of age.

Treating all children as individuals and to have a secure knowledge and understanding of their needs while they are within our care.

Motivating and encouraging the children to participate in activities.

Helping to promote the children’s self-esteem.

Encouraging acceptance of children with special needs.

Ensure a clean, tidy environment conducive to fostering good Health and Safety practice.

Follow statutory and non-statutory policies and procedures required for the efficient running of the club.

Support Deputy and/or Manager in maintaining Ofsted standards of care.

To help prepare nutritional snacks for children.

Ensuring the welfare and safety of children within our care. Promoting good behaviour within the group.

To be ready at all times for emergency situations.

Contribute to learning journeys through observations

Support to School

Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or

come into contact with.

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all.

Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.

Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.

Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.

Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required

Note 1:

In addition to the ability to perform the duties of the post, issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children will need to be demonstrated these will include:

  • Motivation to work with children and young people.
  • Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
  • Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and
  • Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.
