The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and ambitious Early Years Teacher who is committed to the highest standards of Education and who can demonstrate leadership and management skills compatible with our school’s vision, mission and values.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Early Years Teacher to join the team to fully support parents, students and staff as they work towards whole school improvement. This position would suit someone who is looking to expand their leadership skill and support the Principal to lead and further develop the provision of the EYFS curriculum.

The successful candidate should have high expectations of themselves with a professional working ethos and sound early years’ educational philosophy to drive the education agenda. This needs to be combined with exceptional communication skills to motivate both children and staff.

Your aim is to motivate children and use resources imaginatively to help them learn in a reception classroom. You’ll provide a safe and secure environment for them to develop their social and communication skills, while recording observations and summarising their achievements.

Key Tasks:

  • Work as part of the management team to implement and improve practice
  • Motivate and stimulate a child’s learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience
  • Provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment
  • Assist with the development of a child’s personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities
  • Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
  • Encourage mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play
  • Help children develop curiosity and knowledge
  • Work with others, including teaching assistants and nursery nurses as well as volunteer helpers, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors
  • Build and maintain relationships with parents
  • Observe, assess and record each child’s progress
  • Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the setting

About You:

  • Well-qualified graduate with appropriate degree
  • Experience within an Early Years setting
  • Experience with curriculum development work
  • Experience across the age and ability range
  • Ability to work in a team Excellent classroom skills
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Commitment to developing teaching and learning
