The Governing Body of Brierley CE (VC) Primary School warmly invites invite applications for an exceptional, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support our brand-new nursery provision, opening in September 2026.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a committed and nurturing practitioner to play a key role in supporting the development of a new nursery from the very beginning, as part of our already well-respected, friendly and vibrant school community.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Early Years practitioner who will:

  • Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Help create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive environment where young children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn
  • Support children’s learning and development through play-based activities, both indoors and outdoors
  • Provide emotional support and care, helping children to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
  • Work closely with the class teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning
  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery provision
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an enthusiastic, caring and reflective Early Years practitioner
  • Have a good understanding of child development and how young children learn
  • Be well organised and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Be proactive, motivated and committed to high-quality Early Years practice
  • Be able to nurture and support children through a child-centred approach
  • Be fully committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every child
  • Support and uphold the school’s Christian ethos
