Early Years Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our team here at Hillside.

The successful applicant will work in our Reception class Monday - Friday on the following working pattern:

8.30am-11.30am - Classroom support

11.30am-12.00pm - Lunch support

12.45pm-3.15pm - Classroom support

and will:

  • Play a crucial role in supporting our early years' education by assisting in the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum and contributing to the creation of a safe, nurturing environment for our youngest learner
  • Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
  • Promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement
  • Be educated to GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and maths
  • Have experience of working in a school or other educational setting
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Have sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
  • Have a commitment to safeguarding pupil’s wellbeing and equality
  • Be resilient, positive, forward looking and enthusiastic about making a difference
  • Have the capacity to inspire, motivate and challenge children and young people

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
