What the school offers its staff

St Barnabas is a friendly, nurturing infant school which provides a fantastic EYFS and Key Stage One provision for children from the local community. The school prides itself on its inclusive nurturing approach and strives to ensure that all pupils thrive and have a brilliant start to their education!

We are looking for an enthusiastic ECT to join our EYFS team on a full time basis. St Barnabas has a fabulous EYFS provision with engaging and exciting areas for our youngest pupils to explore- two large classrooms, a large area for water, sand, paint and malleable play as well as a large undercover role play area and plenty of outside provision with trees, shrubs and an adjacent park to enhance outside learning. ‘Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming’ said a recent starter. Visitors comment on the ‘family feel’ of the school and the happy children they see. Standards are high, children are keen to learn but welfare and nurture is paramount in allowing this to happen.Staff work very much as a team - EYFS plan together weekly as a whole staff team so that everyone's ideas are shared and valued.

If you are looking for a unique opportunity where you can flourish and reach your full potential, while providing an outstanding start to education for our children, then we would love to hear from you!

Commitment to safeguarding

St Barnabas CE School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check (DBS). This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

St Barnabas Church of England provides a loving, caring, Christian community for children aged 4-7, where each child and their family is valued, nurtured and given the opportunity to flourish.

St Barnabas prides itself on nurturing the whole child so good academic progress goes hand in hand with an emphasis on developing well-being, independence and self esteem. We are a growth mindset school and the children will tell you that mistakes make their brains grow and that there is no such thing as 'can't'.

We are proud of our close links with St Barnabas Church and we also work very closely with Freeman's Endowed Church of England Junior Academy, which is where almost all of our children go for the next stage of their education. Additionally, we have been a part of the Peterborough Diocese Education Trust since 2014, alongside 32 other primary schools in Rutland, Peterborough and Northamptonshire.

PDET is responsible for employing all staff and managing the finances and other central services for the Academies within their care. Consequently, the Trust provides vast opportunities for further professional development, alongside wider professional and personal support.
