Education Welfare Officer job summary

The role involves working across our schools promoting positive attitudes towards regular student attendance, improving attendance levels and supporting schools in fulfilling their legal obligations. You will liaise closely with our school attendance teams in managing attendance and will have regular liaison with the local authority Education Welfare Service in accessing appropriate support and advice as required.

The role is based at our Liskeard office but will cover all of the Trust's schools.

We are looking for someone with:

- a strong understanding of education law and practices relating to school attendance

- the ability to provide guidance in line with legislation

- good interpersonal skills for working with staff, young people and families

- sensitivity, discretion and an understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality

- excellent administrative and organistional skills
