What skills and experience we're looking for
About You:
Thesuccessful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following
- Experience of working with children and their families of the relevant age in a learning environment.
- Experience Working in Education setting.
- Experience of working with children with challenging behaviour.
- Knowledge / understanding of Education in relation to school attendance, children’s right to an education and legislation in these areas.
- Ability to create inspiring targeted pupil support plans based on a pupil’s needs to improve attendance and academic progress.

Truro and Penwith Academy Trustare seeking to appoint anEducation Welfare Officer to ensure that all schools are adhering to the Trust’s tiered response to target pupils with poor attendance, providing direct support to headteachers and pastoral teams to ensure that all barriers to pupil’s attendance are considered, supported and resolved through successful pupil support plans and/or statutory intervention. This is a key role where strong communication and organisational skills will be key to ensuring strong relationships are built with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally.
