Hitchin Boys’ School (HBS) is an
outstanding and over-subscribed comprehensive school with a mixed sixth form,
which forms part of the highly successful Hitchin Schools’ Consortium. It is located in the historic and picturesque
market town of Hitchin in North Herts.
We
are seeking to appoint a part-time Educational Trips Coordinator to start in October
(or asap).
The successful applicant will be responsible for the co-ordination of school trips and activities to ensure that they are organised in line with school policy. Key tasks include:
- Ensure that trips are planned and costed according to school policy, monitoring income and expenditure to ensure each trip remains within budget.
- Make bookings with travel agents and venues and arrange transport.
- Send out communication to parents as directed by trip leaders and respond to queries.
- Work in partnership with the Finance team to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner.
- Keep up to date with school trip best
practice and legislation to ensure health and safety and safeguarding
requirements are met.
Candidates should have GCSE level A-C including English or equivalent vocational qualification. Experience of working in an administrative role is essential. Experience of working in an educational setting is desirable. The selected candidate will be organised, methodical and able to prioritise workload. They will be a great communicator with excellent IT skills, specifically Excel. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a prerequisite.
