• Working pattern: Part time: 18 hours a week, Mon-Wed, term time only, 38 weeks per year plus 3 INSET days
• Contract type: Fixed term - FTC, based on funding, until 8th January 2025 with the view to be extended until July 2025
• Full-time equivalent salary: Grade 2 £23,657-£24,027

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Meadows is a small school where our family ethos creates a sense of belonging, pride in our community and compassion for everyone in our school family. We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated TA to support the learning of one of our wonderful pupils with an education health care plan. There may also be the opportunity for overtime.

We welcome applications from individuals who care about people and can form strong relationships. They will nurture, encourage, and use adaptive practice to support our pupil to be fully immersed within our ambitious curriculum so that they can achieve success – both personal and academic. The successful candidate will work under the direct instruction of teaching staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher.

We are looking for someone who is:

• Qualified with an NVQ Level 2 and has experience working in a Primary School, ideally, supporting children with special educational needs
• Nurturing and committed to working with students to help them achieve their potential
• Have a good understanding of areas of learning e.g. literacy, numeracy, science, SEN
• Able to create a culture and ethos where all students can achieve success and become engaged in their own learning
• An excellent communicator and demonstrates openness and honesty
• An excellent team player who enjoys working collaboratively

The Meadows is a small school where our family ethos creates a sense of belonging, pride in our community and a compassion for everyone in our school family. In October 2017, we converted to an academy within The Shaw Education Trust.

There are 3 mixed age classes and a small Reception class of 14 pupils. Our small size enables all our children to know each other and all our staff to know each and every child. Our motto is “Learning by Caring and Sharing”. Our children care for one another, their school environment, their community and the world which we all share.

Our aim is for all of our children to be successful learners, so they are able to grow, develop and mature into successful adults. Whilst we strive for high academic achievement, success at The Meadows is about happiness, making good choices and feeling proud of yourself. To be successful all children and adults have to overcome setbacks and show resilience. We believe that a successful lifelong learner is one who cares for others around them and is able to share resources, ideas and their knowledge with enthusiasm.
