Job Title: Emotional Literacy Support Assistant
Location: Venturers’ Academy, Bristol
Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and thrive emotionally, socially and academically? Venturers' E-ACT Academy is seeking a caring, dedicated and resilient Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our pastoral team.
In this rewarding role, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional support, delivering targeted interventions that help build confidence, resilience, self-esteem and positive relationships. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment where every student feels valued, supported and able to succeed
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) interventions to support pupils' emotional wellbeing.
- Help students develop emotional resilience, confidence, self-esteem and positive social skills.
- Monitor, record and evaluate pupil progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agencies to support student needs.
- Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment that enables all pupils to engage positively with learning
Pay range:
NJC 8 - 13 - £24,370.72 - £26,405.94
FTE - £27,709.00 - £30,023.00
37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
- ELSA qualification or a willingness to undertake ELSA training.
- Experience of working with children or young people in an educational or pastoral setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate empathy and support pupils with a range of emotional and social needs.
