What the school offers its staff
The English department is a successful and large team housed together in one block of the school. All full time teachers have their own classroom, appropriately equipped with laptop, projector and visualiser and there is a comprehensive induction programme in place to support new staff.
In addition to quality first teaching and learning, this position aims to provide the capacity for specialist staff to help personalise even further each student’s experience of English through targeted and focussed intervention. Students study AQA English Language and Literature at GCSE and the department builds up the knowledge required for this throughout Key Stage three. A well-used and valued library is led by our librarian, a fully trained primary school teacher.
