ENGLISH TEACHER (SEND) job summary
We are seeking to appoint for September 2022, an English teacher with a relentless drive to pursue the best possible outcomes for all our pupils at all Key Stages. The successful applicant will be working as part of a small, well-established English team who are determined and dedicated to achieving success for all of our pupils.
Please Note : Although this is advertised as a full-time post, we will consider part-time applications. If you wish to apply for a part-time position, please clearly indicate the number of days/hours that you are available.
Pupils in Key Stage 3 English follow a Scheme of Work that develops a love for Language and Literature whilst progressing a range of analytical and communicative skills. Pupils are introduced to a wide variety of challenging and thought provoking texts and are encouraged to broaden their literary and cultural horizons.
At Key Stage 4, our focus is on preparing students to be confident in exploring a wide range of texts and forming an analytical opinion as well as developing their skills in writing highly effective fiction and non-fiction. Pupils are encouraged to attend our extensive range of extra curricular English activities as well as after-school revision classes prior to GCSE examinations.
At Key Stage 5, pupils either study GCSE English Language or English Functional Skills which is designed to equip pupils with the life skills they need to succeed for employment and further education.
