Enhanced Pathway Leader/Teacher of SEND job summary

Do you want to make a difference to an incredible group of children with complex needs in a fantastic community? Edward Feild Primary School has a wonderful opportunity for an Enhanced Pathway Leader to join us in September 2025. We are a school that aspires to provide the best education it possibly can to all children and this small class of children are no different. We have high aspirations of the school we want to be and support all of our staff to achieve their own potential. This was a fundamental reason behind our recent conversion to become part of the River Learning Trust (RLT) earlier in the year.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • want to have a positive impact on the lives of all the children we work with
  • be enthusiastic and committed
  • have high expectations of all pupils
  • add value to our friendly and hard-working team of staff
  • be creative and willing to step outside their comfort zone
  • have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • be committed to their own professional development

We can offer:

  • a supportive team to work with
  • a wonderful wider school community
  • high quality professional development with support from the RLT
  • a commitment to your wellbeing and workload
  • last but not least, our brilliant children!

This is a full-time, fixed term contract for 2 years offering L1-5, commensurate with experience.

Tours of the school are highly recommended. Please email office@efps.org.uk or call 01865 372268 to arrange. If you would like to have a confidential conversation with Scott Lewis, headteacher, about the role, prior to application, then please email headteacher@efps.org.uk or telephone 01865 372268. We welcome applications from both ECTs and more experienced teachers.

The deadline for applications is 8am on Thursday 24th April. Interviews will take place on Monday 28th April.

The school reserves the right to consider and interview candidates ahead of the closing date if appropriate. An offer may be made to an exceptional candidate in this instance.

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust, and the benefits you could access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.
