Location: Hybrid - office, school sites, and remote working
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks)
Excalibur Academies Trust is seeking a proactive and experienced Estates Business Partner to join our central team. Reporting to the Director of Estates, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our Strategic Estates Plan, ensuring our schools provide safe, sustainable, and inspiring environments for learning.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role, combining strategic oversight with operational delivery. You will manage capital projects, oversee premises compliance, champion sustainability initiatives, and lead on estates-related risk management across our 20-school Trust.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Projects: Lead procurement and delivery of local capital projects, ensuring value for money and compliance.
Premises Management: Monitor contractor performance, oversee site improvements, and ensure accurate asset records.
Sustainability: Drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact, cut energy costs, and embed sustainable practices.
Business Continuity & Risk: Implement and test recovery plans, manage facilities-related risks, and support continuity planning.
Health & Safety: Lead on H&S compliance across allocated schools, ensuring safe, accessible environments for all.
Finance: Work closely with Trust finance teams to ensure budgets are met and procurement procedures followed.
Leadership: Support and develop estates staff, identifying training needs and fostering professional growth.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone with:
Extensive experience in Facilities Management and Project Management.
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety policy and practices.
Excellent ICT, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with staff, contractors, and external partners.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality.
Facilities Management qualification (Level 4 or above).
NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate.
Experience across both primary and secondary education settings.
Willingness to travel across Trust schools.
