About this role

In this crucial role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our school buildings are compliant and both planned and reactive maintenance is organised and follow our strategy across the trust.

You will be working closely with the Trust central team, academy site managers and contractors to ensure contracts are in place, in line with SFG20, scheduled and all records are accurate and managed within the trust’s CAFM system iAM Compliant.

You will support academy teams and regional estates managers with general maintenance and compliance queries to support a safe, compliant and well-maintained estates function. The role is home working based with travel to academies as needed. This is a full time role working 36.5 hours per week.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, logical thinking and effective problem-solving abilities. They must have a solid understanding of statutory compliance, as well as an understanding of the maintenance of plant, machinery and equipment within school or similar estates. Essential qualifications include demonstrable numeracy and literacy, alongside at least two years of recent and relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within educational settings such as schools or academies. Knowledge of building systems, mechanical and electrical maintenance and infrastructure management is critical. Desirable qualifications include a foundation degree, HND, or higher, as well as certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or IWFM. Familiarity with CAFM systems, SFG20 compliance standards, and project management is an advantage.

The role requires the ability to prioritise workloads, work under pressure and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing contractors, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining accurate documentation.
