Exam Invigilator job summary

EXAM INVIGILATORS

Pay scale: NJC Level 2a point 3

(£12.45 per hour)

We are currently looking to recruit additional Exam Invigilators to join our organised and friendly team.

If successful you will supervise students who are completing external and mock examinations throughout the school year, in accordance with the regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for the security of exams materials prior to the exam, their distribution to students and their secure return at the end of the exam.

You will benefit from working with our experienced team members and full induction training will be provided.

The hours are flexible and would ideally suit a person living locally and looking to work occasional hours as and when required. You must be available for a minimum of three days a week or five sessions per week, bearing in mind that you will need to arrive in school by 8am for morning exams. Afternoon exams are usually timetabled for an approximate start time of 12.30pm and finish by 3.15pm; A Level exams can run as late as 4.30pm.

Applicants will need to be able to invigilate for our external & mock examinations in the summer term which will take place from 8th May until the 29th June 2026. Mock examinations take place throughout the academic year (November, January & March), the dates of these examinations are shared in September each year.
